Making cash payments using Carpay
How to make cash payments in Carpay using the In-Store Code feature — generate a payment code and pay in person at a retail partner.

This article explains how you can pay your Carpay balance with cash using the in-portal In-Store Code feature.
If your dealership has the option enabled, you can make cash payments at participating retail stores nearest to you. Not every dealership offers this option.
Cash payments are processed through an external partner and allow you to make a payment in person at a participating retail location.
How to make cash payments
Step 1: Log in to your Carpay account
Log in to the Carpay customer portal on your computer or mobile app.
Once logged in, you’ll see your account summary.
At the top of the page, click In-Store Code to begin the cash payment process.
Step 2: Generate your in-store code and enter your payment amount
On the In-Store Code page, you’ll see:
- Your amount due
- A field where you can enter how much you want to pay today
Enter the amount you want to pay in the Paying today box.
Step 3: Send or use your cash payment code
After entering the amount:
- Click the Pay $XXX button.
- A new page or tab will open with your cash payment barcode/code.
- Take this code to a participating payment location (any Paysafe retail partner).
At the store, the cashier will scan the barcode and accept your cash payment.
What happens next
- Once the cash is accepted at the retail location, it will be posted to your account.
- The payment will usually appear in the Carpay portal within a few hours.
- You’ll receive a payment receipt from the cashier at the retail location.
Tips for cash payments
- Make sure your payment amount is entered correctly before generating the code.
- Bring a printed or digital copy of the barcode to the store.
- Cash payment codes expire after 72 hours, so use it promptly.
- Check with the retail partner for any location-specific instructions.
Common questions
Do cash payments cost money?
Yes — a service fee set by the cash payment partner may apply, and it is shown when you generate your payment code.
Will cash payments show in my Carpay account immediately?
They will appear once the store accepts your payment and reports it back, which is usually within a few hours but can vary by location.
Can I use cash payment codes more than once?
No — each code is valid for a single payment.
